Klaroline 3 Frustrations
It felt amazing to finally sit down for the first time that day. Caroline was still getting things ready for tonight’s party. She was just doing some final touches. Well, maybe a lot of final touches. If this party wasn’t a success she could guarantee she’d lose her mind.
Mrs. Lockwood entered the small parlor where Caroline rested on the plush couch that smelled of peppermint and bourbon.
“The house looks wonderful, dear. You did a fabulous job” Mrs. Lockwood knew about Caroline being a vampire and she didn’t seem to hide the fact that she was still on the other side of the room. Of course she wasn’t going to come closer, thought Caroline, who would if they really knew? But at least it wasn’t as bad for Caroline as it was for the Salvatore brothers. If ever invited into a room alone with one of them she would suddenly have an errand. Even with her shakiness Mrs. Lockwood was more comfortable around Caroline, most likely because she’d watched her grow up.
“Thanks Mrs. Lockwood” Caroline forced a smile. What she wouldn’t give for a cup of strong coffee. She never really understood how she could be dead and yet so tired.
“Go home and get some rest. The part won’t be for another five hours. And I give you permission to be fashionably late” Mrs. Lockwood nodded trying to provoke a small smile.
Caroline laughed a bit “It takes me that long to get ready’ she rolled her eyes “I’ll just go and grab a cup of coffee and come back. My dress is here anyways”.
She got to her feet and stretched, grabbing her purse and heading out the door taking out her car keys. The day was bright and sunny. She looked down at her ugly ring that protected her from the burning sun rays. Yes it was ugly, but it was hers. She smiled thinking of when Stefan first gave it to her. How she had been so afraid to test it out and Bonnie just pulled back the curtains, freaking the crap out of her. “It works” Bonnie’s voice rang in her head and she sighed remembering. The said thing was it was only a memory. Everything and everyone had changed. It seemed only she stayed remotely the same. Even Matt changed.
Caroline sighed and pulled out of the driveway and put the music on high to try and drain all thoughts besides the lyrics. By the time she finished the last song on her playlist she’d already went through the short line of Tim Horton’s drive through and was cruising aimlessly, not ready to go back to the Lockwood prison just yet.
She reached down to start the CD over again, but just at that moment she saw something in the road. Gasping, she slammed on the breaks trying her best not to swerve her car. She came to a stop right in front of the man that was standing in the middle of the road watching her with amusement.
Her body chilled over and she glared murderously at Klaus. She honked the horn wishing he’d just get out of her way. If he didn’t then she would just gladly run him over. That thought brought a glimmer of a smile to her lips.
Klaus ignored her horn and started to walk toward her side of the car. He gestured for her to roll her window down with that same stupid smirk on his face. Oh, those lips. How much she had wanted to kiss them before, but now all she wanted to do was bust those beautiful lips with her fist.
She rolled her window down grudgingly and nearly exploded “Are you insane?”
Klaus just shrugged “Sometimes” his reply sent a thrill of anger through Caroline’s body.
Grinding her teeth she said icily “If you don’t stop smirking like that I’ll run you over”
“Such violence in someone so little” his accent made it sound more of an insult, and it sent Caroline on the edge.
“Get away from my car” her throat was constricted with anger and made it difficult to talk.
Still smirking Klaus tilted his head to the side and bent down to face her eye to eye “Is that what you want?”
“Yes, I want more than anything to run you over” she revved her engine.
Klaus dangled his arms inside her car and just stared at her, his smirk was gone but she could still see the amusement in his eyes.
“I mean it Klaus. I want you to stay away from me” it was half true and half lie. She wanted him to leave her alone, but she didn’t know if she wanted him out of her life. It was just so complicated.
Klaus didn’t speak for a moment. Then he slowly leaned his face closer to Caroline.
Pushing her head back into the seat Caroline felt her chest tighten. She couldn’t move back any farther, but he continued to inch forward until their lips were inches apart and she was suffocating from his sweet breath fanning across her face.
“I’ll see you at the party, Caroline” the way he said her name made her bottom lip tremble and the longing for him to just tough her hand came out of thin air. Why did he have to do this to her? Klaus pulled his head back instantly and walked away. Now she felt dazed, vulnerable, and more frustrated than before.

Trapped on Monster Island
TOMI
Chapter One

The boat rocked, making Daniel stumble to the side. He had to grab the bar to steady himself. Why hadn’t he just spent the extra money for the better cruise to get back to the states? He should have just taken a plane and not even went by sea at all. But his mother wanted him to see the sights on the sea. And to disappoint her was suicide to his conscience. The problem though, what sights? The only thing to see was the vast nothingness of the endless spread of water. It gave him chills and made him that much more homesick.

Still gripping the bar he starred down at the choppy water that crashed against the side. Soon he became so enveloped he was unaware of anything else around him, until somebody knocked into him.

“Well don’t fall mate” a man said, Daniel wasn’t sure if his accent was English or maybe Australian. The man walked by and Daniel just glared, immediately not trusting him. There was something about his crooked smirk that made him think, snake.

“Didn’t plan on it. Why don’t you try watching where you’re going next time” it wasn’t like Daniel to get into something so petty, but something inside him refused to back down.

The man turned back to him, a scowl fixed on his face and he took a step forward in a threatening manner. A slender blonde standing next to him put her hand over his chest, “Come on Klaus. He’s just a kid. Let’s go” though she couldn’t be more than a couple of years older. Klaus gave her a look, but his face smoothed back out and he just smirked.

“Of course love. No need to throw him overboard…yet”, Klaus turned back to Daniel, “You have a good day now”.

“Gladly” Daniel retorted, his expression chiseled from restrained anger. After the two were turned and walking away the girl looked back. She winked and blew him a kiss. Daniel just scowled; girls like her didn’t amuse him.

After a moment of cooling down his temper, Daniel decided it was time for a meal before heading off to take a nap. That was one good thing about this cruise. He could sleep whenever he wanted for however long he wanted. He headed to the buffet area where they always had food. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks in between meals were always served. He was just about to grab the last breadstick from the pasta dinner when a voice caught his hand.

“You aren’t really going to take that last piece are you?”

Daniel looked up, a girl with soft blue eyes and wry smirk met him, making his throat dry. He swallowed and returned her smile with his own.

“I was actually saving it for you” he declared in a charming tone.

“Oh? But you don’t know me” the girl picked up the bread stick with slender fingers and held it delicately with a thoughtful expression.

Daniel smirked “Wish I did”.

She smiled and stared into his deep blue eyes, feeling a bit flustered the longer she kept her gaze “I’m Arianna”. She carefully ripped the breadstick in half and handed it to him, walking away before he could say anything.

Daniel watched her and a strange feeling overcame him. He couldn’t understand it and didn’t know whether or not to trust it. No way could a total stranger make him feel…lightweight. It was goofy and impossible. But either way, getting that name out of his head would be a task on its own.
◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆

Arianna smiled to herself as she sat down at an empty table. If only she knew his name. The man with the bright blue eyes that made her tongue tied. Why hadn’t she stayed long enough to ask? Because she was horrible around attractive men, that’s why.

A woman took a seat next to Arianna. She was clearly very far along in pregnancy. She had a bowl of ice cream in front of her that she didn’t touch.

“Ah, I want to get off this cruise. I always get queasy on these things” she laughed, a hand on her extended belly.

Arianna smiled “I don’t really mind it. I love the sea salt air,” she paused “If you don’t mind my asking. How far along are you?”

The women with a heart shaped face smiled “Not at all. I’ll be seven months tomorrow” she scooped a spoonful of the mint chocolate ice cream into her mouth.

“Congrats” Arianna smiled, she loved children so she couldn’t help but be excited for this stranger. She couldn’t stop herself from glancing over at the man with the brilliant blue eyes. Her cheeks went pink and she looked away, he was staring at her and she could feel the pink turning to a shade of red. Peeking through the curtain of hair, the only thing separating her from the intensity of his gaze, she could see he was still staring and now smirking. It sent a thrilling chill through her veins.
◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆

Daniel still had a grin plastered on his face when he entered his small cabin and plopped on his bunk. Maybe this cruise wouldn’t be so bad after all. Arianna made it worth the sea sickness. He’d have to talk to her again. He laid back and closed his eyes sighing inaudibly. He closed his eyes and relaxed, allowing the swaying of the boat to drift him to sleep.
◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆

Daniel woke startled and raised his head looking around with bleary vision. A thunderous boom shook his very core. It had to have been what woke him. He got to his feet when another explosion came followed after by a deafening crash. The boat rocked sharply to the side, sending Daniel faltering into a mirror mounted on the wall. It shattered and sliced his forearm, spilling his blood onto the carpet.

When he got to his feet again the boat was still tossing violently. He made it to the door and yanked it open, stumbling out onto the deck. People were screaming and running past him shouting “We’re sinking!”, and others screeched, “We’re off course!”

A women running by slipped on the slick deck and fell overboard. Daniel panted, reaching out for her desperately, but it was too late. The lady lurched into the water and all Daniel could do was watch her thrash helplessly for her life. He hated himself for it, but he knew he couldn’t save her. He headed for the front of the boat, keeping his hands firmly on the bar to keep his balance on the slippery deck that threatened to throw him off with one wrong stride.

The front deck was chaotic with people scrambling for life jackets and desperately trying to get into a shabby life boat that in Daniels perspective didn’t offer much safety. There should have been plenty of vests, but there wasn’t. So people began fighting ruthlessly for them. Some pushed others overboard, the drive to survive taking over their very souls. Why wasn’t there enough? Why wasn’t this boat prepared for something like this to happen?

The boat rocked again, only now it seemed it was tipping upward, sending everything unfastened in the front to the back. Daniel lost his footing and his grip on the bar slipped, sending him back too. Unable to scream he plunged into the ink black water, going under. He came back up coughing and gasping for air. Pumping his arms and legs he desperately tried to keep his head above water. Already his limbs were cramping from the cold. He started to slip under and it was more of a struggle to keep himself afloat. He was drifting farther and farther away from the boat that was still sinking at a rapid pace. A wave crashed down over top of him and he lost himself in the directionless sea.

Klaroline Two Carolines Nerves

Klaroline Two Carolines Nerves
It was late afternoon and Caroline was still at the Lockwood’s planning for tomorrows events. She had been there all day and things still weren’t right. She was a bit of a perfectionist. There would be yet again another party celebrating the town’s history. It was getting a bit old and she wasn’t sure she could do this at the moment. Her nerves were fried and the helpers still didn’t have the table in the spot she had specifically told them to place it.
Caroline took a deep breath and closed her eyes trying to calm herself. Everything just wasn’t working out for her lately and she just wanted to punch something to release some of the tension welling in her chest as hard as her vampire strength would allow.
When she felt her cool gradually originate back, she opened her eyes and began organizing the candle sticks again by size and color. As she worked her thoughts began to drift off and she found herself thinking about someone who she swore she’d never speak to again, Klaus. The hurt expression etched into his fine features forced her to bite her lip. Why was she feeling guilty about hurting his feeling? If he even has feelings, she thought to herself. He was the one that screwed everything up, not her. What should she care? But she did care, and that was the problem. She felt horrible about making a powerful original look so fragile and broken. Even though it was his fault, the guilt was eating away at her conscience.
Looking up she came out of her daze and sighed to see the table in the wrong place, again. Ambling over, she observed around to make sure no one was watching before picking up the table with one hand and placing it in its rightful spot. The table would have been much too heavy for a single girl to scoot let alone pick up single handedly. If you wanted things done right, sometimes you had to do it yourself. Now she could just hope that the party would go in the right direction tomorrow.

Klaroline 1 Klaus' Pain
For you my lovlies XD. The first of them all.

Klaus sighed restlessly as the green numbers on the alarm clock blinked seemingly slower than usual. Everything seemed slower, and he just couldn’t seem to get comfortable no matter how hard he tried. It was 3 o’clock in the morning when he finally growled in frustration and sat up, running his fingers through his slightly matted hair. He wiped away the sleep from his eyes as he rolled out of bed.
Quickly and quietly he left his room to descend the polished royal marble staircase. Klaus took his time walking through the colossal mansion he had grown to tolerate. When he entered the parlor he noticed a lump on the couch. Looking further he saw it was Elijah, his favorite brother at the moment.
The kitchen was much colder and the only light source came from the moon shining in through the warped window. Starring at the full moon sent a chill down Klaus’s spine. Something he never normally got. An image of Caroline appeared in his mind. He frowned, seeing her expression set into a scowl, and not the bubbly smile with lips that could talk more than everyone other than he could listen. He didn’t deserve her forgiveness, but he needed it. This was the reason why he couldn’t sleep. The aching pain he felt in his chest was guilt.

Short one shots that lead to dramatic scenes with Caroline and Klaus from The Vampire Diaries. It will be a kind of series.
